22ND NOVEMBER 2016 UPDATE: 3 months Spotify Premium for 99p offer is back!
Every so often, Spotify launches a fantastic deal offering 3 months Spotify Premium for 99p. If you’re a music lover, this may sound too good to be true. After all, since Spotify Premium usually costs £9.99 a month, this gives you a huge saving of £28.98!
Unfortunately, after relaunching the offer for new customers in May, Spotify has withdrawn the deal once more, meaning that it costs £9.99 each month again 🙁
Thankfully, there are a few other ways you can save money on Spotify Premium…

Free trial
New members are entitled to a free 30 day trial before their paid subscription starts so, if you’ve never used Spotify before, sign up and get a month’s worth of free music. If you decide you don’t want to pay £9.99 a month after your trial, simply cancel your membership before your trial ends and you won’t be charged.
Technically speaking, even if you do use Spotify Premium already, I imagine there’s nothing stopping you cancelling your membership and signing up again using a different email and different card.
Student discount
If you’re a student, you can get access to Spotify Premium for just £4.99.
To make use of the offer, you’ll need your NUS Extra card to hand, or you’ll need to log in using your UNiDAYS account. Visit the Spotify Premium Student page for more info.
Get an NUS Extra card even if you’re not a student
Technically, you don’t have to be an actual student in the traditional sense to get an NUS Extra card.
By purchasing an online course from e-careers, you magically become eligible for an NUS card. And, thanks to voucher code websites like Groupon and GoGroopie you can purchase one of these e-careers courses for as little as £10.

Spotify Family
Spotify recently launched a new Spotify Family deal which offers up to 6 members of the same family a package membership for just £14.99 a month. Sure, it’s not as good as the 3 months Spotify for 99p deal, but at just £2.50 per month each, it’s still a respectable saving.
Each member of the family will have access to their own personal Spotify account, meaning you won’t have to share playlists with relatives whose music tastes you may not appreciate.
According to Spotify, this is a deal for families only and every member of the family must live at the same address. At present, I don’t know quite how strict they are about this and whether or not it’s possible to get around it. I’ll keep you updated…
